A little About me.

I am a wife and mom of four handsome boys, my oldest is 23 years while my youngest is 5 years old. You can imagine what my house looks like 🙂

I am very funny, God-fearing, and empathetic. My friends describe me as easy-going, beautiful, compassionate, and charismatic and there is never a dull moment with me.

Some of my personal values are respect, honesty, and commitment which drive a lot of my actions, decisions, and day-to-day life.

I help and support people with intellectual disabilities to integrate and live normal life within their community. I love working with these individuals because not only do I cater to them but provide care in a free and non-judgmental environment.

I have a passion for dancing, exercising, and putting smiles on people’s faces.

I mostly enjoy dancing together with my boys and most time I jokingly say together we can shut a house down when we all have on our dancing shoes. 😊

I derive joy in making others happy. I go the extra mile to ensure everyone around me is well taken care of. However, this aspect of my character made me forget about myself.

I didn’t realize it was a problem until my last baby arrived and it took a toll on me. I had to learn and re-learn how to start loving myself. I learned about self-love because like the saying goes, you cannot give from an empty cup.

That trying period of my life pushed me to come up with ‘My Hour of Power’ which was how ‘THRIVE WITH JOHANA” was born.

I quickly reminded myself that if I wanted to stay alive and live to fulfill my purpose despite post-partum side-effect on my health and life, I need time to look after myself.

A Time to REIGNITE, COMEBACK, and REJUVENATE.

A TIME TO THRIVE!!!

My Journey

When I found out I was pregnant with my last born, I was 42. It was a depressing moment in my life. I was confused, shocked, and filled with shame. I got consumed with how people were going to judge me. “She has another baby boy, 13 years after her 3rd son?” This led me to isolate myself from the world. I didn’t want people to see me. Some days I doubted if the baby would be normal. I was termed a Geriatric mother and my doctor had prepared me for abnormalities.

Thankfully, after 9 months my baby was born. He was healthy, charming, and strong but mummy couldn’t stand the responsibilities of a newborn again. Stressful nights, being anxious, having low moods, low sex drive, frequent crying, and all were my daily habits.

The first time my doctor pronounced the word “Post-Partum depression” and gave me the option of an anti-depressant, I rejected it but it was real. This led me to go on research, looking for answers and any help I could find.

One day I stumbled on an article that suggested that Nutrition and Lifestyle changes could be my way out. This started my journey into Nutrition, Wellness, and Lifestyle and has led me to coach other women 40+ suffering or may have suffered unknowingly from post-partum.

A little Back Story about me

I’m originally from Cameroon in West Africa. Based on my culture, I struggled with low confidence and the inability to express myself. I was raised in a community setting where others mostly had a say in your life decisions which can sometimes be very depressing to cope with.

Upon relocating to Europe, I noticed the culture was different. I had to go through the phases of finding who I really was. What I wanted in life. My identity amid a different environment. Down the line, I had to acknowledge I was battling with low self-esteem, low self-belief & fear.

On one occasion, I came across a lady who introduce me to the Network Marketing Business. The platform gave me the opportunity for growth. I met several people, and this exposed me to personal development. I recall being given a book titled “Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway” by Susan Jeffers. I started reading the book and doing the exercises recommended and I noticed my confidence level began to increase. However, I was still self-conscious and afraid to address myself in public.

During the pandemic, I got connected with motivational speakers like Les Brown, Brian Tracy, and many more who opened my mind. I gradually began to overcome the fear of speaking and expressing myself.

I decided to take things a step further, I re-enrolled in school and completed my degree all of which have boosted my confidence. I was able to achieve all of these while navigating work, catering to my family, raising my boys, and being a wife.

I strongly believe you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.

My Transformation.

The further transformation was when I enrolled in a Nutrition course and embarked on a self-development journey. This was a game-changer in my life. I realized that fear had taken a lot from me. I decided to take hold of it because if I don’t, who will?

I wanted to be free and become the best version of myself. I wanted to be free and have a less stressful life.

I completed my program and went a step further to enroll in other certification training to help me with my mindset and limiting beliefs.

This step has not only helped me but benefited my coaching clients as well. I have been helping them not only see physical changes in their body, mind, and soul but to bring out the best version of themselves.

I am thriving now because I have learned from all my struggles which have prepared me to become a better wife, mom, and coach. Having a late pregnancy and all my issues have shown me that asking or seeking help is not taboo or anything to be ashamed of.

As one of my mentors, the popular Les Brown puts it “When life knows you down try to land on your back because if you can look up you can get up”.

If Johana can thrive through her weird thoughts, stress, and post-partum depression. If she can REIGNITE, COMEBACK, AND REJUVENATE. SO, YOU CAN!

I’ll love to help you on your journey. I invite you to THRIVE WITH JOHANA!
